Week 2, Magpies at Bats

Ballycastle Bats Badly Beaten By Montrose Magpies

With both teams coming off a victory last week, morale was high on both ends of the pitch, however it was quickly apparent that the Bats were not up to the challenge.  The first hour saw the Magpies score 6 goals to the Bats’ 2, then in hour 2 the Magpies’ Chasers really ran away with the quaffle, with Phineas Patil scoring 8 goals on his own.  Then, disaster struck as Bats’ Beater Kingsley Nott accidentally bashed the quaffle through his own goal, scoring an extra 10 points for the Magpies.  At this point the Bats might have still been able to sneak in a victory with an early snitch catch from Kendra Higgs, but the Magpie’s Seeker, Katie Bagnold just edged her out in a chase around the pitch as the rest of the Bats looked on helplessly, allowing Minerva Bolstrode to toss the quaffle for one final goal before the snag.
