Week 1, Crossbows at Falcons

Cork Crossbows Crush Falmouth Falcons

Crossbow fans were pleased this week to see their team smash their longtime rivals, the Falmouth Falcons.  While the keepers for both teams seemed unable to stop a quaffle, both their beaters more than made up for it.  Cork began the match with a ringing 13 goals, provided by Horace Abbott and Araminta Diggle.  The Falcons were only able to answer with 7, all courtesy Clara Rosier.  Norbert Marchbanks and Phineas Pomfrey, the other two Falcon Chasers were kept at bay by the powerful duo of Frank Finch-Fletchly and Kennilworthy Brown, the Crossbows’ Beaters.  Hour two saw the Crossbows rack up another 12 goals, with Falmouth only able to put up 3.  This trend continued right up to the 4th hour, when Colin Elphik captured the snitch at 3 hours and 56 minutes, securing a wide margin victory for the visiting team.

Final Score: Crossbows 550, Falcons 220.
